On March 19, the 2025 Macao Spring Reception and the Promotion Event for the 137th Canton Fair were successfully held in Macao. The event was co-hosted by the China Foreign Trade Centre, the Economic Affairs Department Trade Office of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region, and the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute. Zhang Sihong, Deputy Director of the China Foreign Trade Centre, Huang Yilin, Committee Member of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, Xu Lemin, Vice Chairman of the Macao Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, and Cai Pengdong, Managing Director of Molecular Nature (Macao) Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology Company Limited, attended and delivered speeches. The event was attended by representatives from the Economic Affairs Department Trade Office of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macao, the Macao Economic and Technological Development Bureau, 9 Macao business associations, 17 exhibitors, and media representatives, totaling nearly 90 participants.
In his speech, Deputy Director Zhang Sihong expressed sincere gratitude to the Macao business community for their long-standing support of the Canton Fair. He provided an update on the latest developments regarding the 137th Canton Fair and its online platform, encouraging Macao exhibitors and buyers to actively download and use the Canton Fair APP for regular supply and procurement matching, fostering more trade cooperation. The event received an enthusiastic response from attendees, who expressed their commitment to making full use of the Canton Fair as a high-quality platform to align with national development strategies and promote the appropriately diversified development of Macao’s economy.
During their stay in Macao, the working group also visited and held meetings with several institutions, including China-invested (Macao) Career Introduction Association, Industrial Association of Macao, Macao Chamber of Commerce, and the Economic Affairs Department Trade Office of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macao. Additionally, they conducted a research visit to the Exhibition Hall of the Platform for Trade and Commercial Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.
