
On February 20th and 21st, the promotion event for the 137th Canton Fair was successfully held in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Approximately 300 participants attended, including representatives from trade promotion agencies, business organizations, and enterprises. Media outlets such as Xinhua News Agency, China News Service, CCTV, and People’s Daily covered the event.
Zhang Sihong, Deputy Director of the China Foreign Trade Centre, stated that the Canton Fair is a vital platform for China’s opening-up and for promoting high-quality development in international trade. It plays a significant role in facilitating efficient connections between Chinese and Brazilian enterprises and boosting bilateral economic and trade cooperation. The 137th Canton Fair will feature more new highlights, providing an even better experience for global attendees.


Tian Yuzhen, Deputy Consul General of China in São Paulo, Tian Min, Consul General of China in Rio de Janeiro, Pan Faming, General Manager of the China-Brazil Center, Tang Kaiqian, President of the China-Brazil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Henrique, Coordinator of the Rio de Janeiro State Government, Xu Lei, Deputy General Manager of the Brazil branch of Bank of China, Cheng Mingwei, General Manager of Gree Brazil, as well as representatives from the Brazilian Consumer Goods Association, Import and Export Enterprises Association, São Paulo Commercial Association, National Agricultural Association, Federation of Commerce, Rio de Janeiro Commercial Association, and long-time buyers such as Guelcos and MU, attended the event and delivered speeches.

During their stay in Brazil, the working group held in-depth discussions with global partners such as the China-Brazil Center and the China-Brazil Chamber of Commerce and Industry ,on market research, supply-demand matchmaking, and trade services. They also explored the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Brazilian Foreign Trade Association. Additionally, thy conducted research on Magalu, one of the world’s top 250 retailers, and the retail chain Assaí.
