Recent activities under the “Trade Bridges” initiative have focused on the textile and apparel as well as the new energy sectors. Representatives from seven Belt and Road cooperative countries, including Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, and Pakistan, have gathered to present the procurement needs of 45 buyers. These needs span a variety of categories including tops, children’s wear, trousers, footwear, knitwear, accessories, solar power, batteries (including lithium batteries), and new energy vehicles. Following the release of procurement demands, both trade delegations and participating enterprises have actively responded, attracting nearly 90 companies from provinces and municipalities such as Guangdong, Zhejiang, Hebei, and Guangxi to sign up.
Aligning with actual supply and demand, the China Foreign Trade Center has conducted a two-way selection process to match participants. Subsequently, 55 high-quality enterprises such as Jiangsu Hantang Junpeng, Guangdong Pu Jin Electronics, and Guangxi Zhongwang Technology have been selected for one-on-one negotiation sessions, resulting in a total of 82 rounds of negotiations. The enthusiastic discussions between the suppliers and buyers have yielded fruitful outcomes.
In 2023, China exported clothing and apparel accessories worth 159.14 billion US dollars, footwear valued at 49.34 billion US dollars, and textiles, yarn, fabrics, and related products worth 134.5 billion US dollars, with African countries being primary export destinations. Additionally, China exported new energy vehicles amounting to 41.81 billion US dollars, marking a 73.4% increase compared to the previous year.
