PPG has been named one of the “most responsible companies in the United States” by Newsweek for the fourth consecutive year. The 2024 ranking considers thousands of companies and recognizes 600 of the most responsible companies in 14 industry subcategories in the United States.
“PPG is honored to be on this prestigious list,” said Diane Kappas, Vice President of Global Sustainable Development at PPG. “We are committed to promoting progressive progress towards achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, integrating sustainable development into our operations and customer service, and having a meaningful impact on our communities of life, work, and entertainment.”
The companies selected for the 2024 list are based on a review of publicly available performance data in the environmental, social, and corporate governance categories, as well as a survey of 17000 US residents regarding their views on corporate social responsibility related enterprises.
PPG is continuously reducing its operational impact on the environment, developing products that enhance customer sustainability, collaborating with communities, and further strengthening and diversifying its global workforce. In May 2023, the company released its 2022 ESG report, emphasizing the progress made in achieving its goals, including:
Announce the short-term sustainable development goals for 2030, including the first, second, and third categories of greenhouse gas emission targets validated by the Scientific Emission Reduction Initiative (SBTi).
We promise to invest $5 million in environmental sustainability education by 2030, which will support seminars and other projects organized by the National Energy Education Development (NEED) project, helping primary school educators build knowledge and skills in teaching energy topics in the classroom. Continue to invest in PPG’s iconic “Colorful Community” program. The company has identified over 500 projects, of which 90% of the 2023 projects incorporate sustainable development elements.
