
On March 4th, the promotion event for the 137th Canton Fair was successfully held in Nairobi, Kenya. The event was attended and addressed by distinguished guests including Zhou Zhencheng, Minister-Counselor for Economic and Commercial Affairs at the Chinese Embassy in Kenya, senior representatives from the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency, the Kenya Investment Authority, the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kenya Airways, as well as veteran buyers of the Canton Fair. Approximately 120 representatives from local businesses and media were in attendance.

Xu Jiansheng, the Operations Director of China Foreign Trade Centre Group Co., Ltd., stated that China is Kenya’s largest trading partner and the leading source of imports. The Canton Fair has long been widely recognized and favored with Kenya’s business community for its extensive range of products, superior quality, and solid reputation, attracting enthusiastic participation from Kenyan buyers. The upcoming 137th Canton Fair will further highlight its advantages, including innovative products, competitive prices, excellent quality, and superior services. Additionally, leveraging the efficient and user-friendly Canton Fair App, the event will provide even more business opportunities for buyers from Kenya and around the world.
During their stay in Kenya, the working group undertook a series of activities, which included meetings with the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Kenya, the Mombasa Branch of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Eastern Africa Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Kenya Airways, and the Sarit Expo Centre. They also conducted a symposium in Mombasa and carried out market research at chain enterprises such as Tile Carpet, NAVAS, QUICK MART, and Chandarana. These efforts aimed to gain market insights, explore potential collaborative projects, and enhance professional exchanges.
