
On January 15, the promotion event for the 137th Canton Fair was successfully held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, with approximately 150 representatives from local trade promotion departments, business organizations, and enterprises in attendance. Mainstream media outlets such as CNC, TVK, and BTV covered the event.


Su Bin, Deputy Secretary-General of the Canton Fair and Deputy Director of the China Foreign Trade Centre, stated that the Canton Fair serves as a vital window for China’s opening-up and an essential platform for foreign trade. The 137th Canton Fair will further optimize its thematic structure, exhibitors and exhibits, supporting activities, and attendee services, while the Canton Fair APP will also be enhanced. He emphasized that the APP aligns closely with the characteristics of the mobile internet era and represents a significant milestone in the development of the Canton Fair’s online platform. He encouraged buyers to download and utilize the APP to facilitate matchmaking and achieve trade cooperation.

Pen Sovicheat, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia, Zhong Jie, Economic and Commercial Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, Mey Kalyan, Secretary-General of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, and Yang Jianwen, V Deputy General Manager of Bank of China Phnom Penh Branch, attended the event and delivered speeches.

During their stay in Phnom Penh, the working group held in-depth discussions with the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia, the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, and the Cambodia China Chamber of Commerce on topics such as promoting the Canton Fair, organizing delegations to participate in the event and exhibiting. They also renewed a cooperation agreement with the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, the working group conducted research on local retail enterprises, including Lucky Supermarket and Chipmong Group.
