The 136th Canton Fair is scheduled to be held in Guangzhou from October 15 to November 4, in three phases. As of October 9, 125,000 overseas buyers from 203 countries and regions have pre-registered for the 136th Canton Fair, according to a press conference by the Ministry of Commerce on October 10.
Pre-registration for overseas buyers booming
The total exhibition area of the 136th Canton Fair will be 1.55 million square meters, with a total of 74,000 booths, 55 exhibition areas, and 171 special zones. Over 30,000 companies will participate in the offline exhibition, including approximately 29,400 export-oriented companies, an increase of nearly 800 companies compared to the previous session, with nearly 4,600 new companies joining the exhibition. The event will showcase 1.15 million new products, 1.04 million green products, and 1.11 million products with independent intellectual property rights.
The Canton Fair’s online platform continues to operate on a regular basis. Eighteen functions are optimized, and a new Canton Fair app is launched for this year’s session. The scale of online participation is larger, with about 48,000 companies uploading approximately 3.75 million products, representing a 60% increase in the number of companies and a 50% increase in the number of products compared to the previous session, both setting new historical records.
As of October 9th, 125,000 overseas buyers have pre-registered for the 136th Canton Fair. The B&R countries account for 75.7%, BRICS countries account for 20%, OECD member countries account for 17.7%, RCEP member countries account for 16.4%, Middle Eastern countries account for 13.4%, and Western countries account for 12.5%.
Pre-registered overseas buyers come from 203 countries and regions. The buyers mainly represent the electronics and home appliances, machinery, textiles and clothing, daily consumer goods, and building materials industries in terms of industry types.
Diverse trade promotion events
This year’s session will host more than 750 trade promotion events, setting a new historical record. More than 250 supply and procurement matchmaking events will be held in 65 countries and regions, including the United States, France, Brazil, Indonesia, Kenya, and Australia. Approximately 400 new product launch events will be held, covering 13 industries such as industrial manufacturing, electronics and home appliances, vehicles, and fashion.
The Product Design and Trade Promotion Center will organize 113 design institutions from 12 countries and regions, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, Greece, Sweden, and Italy, to participate in the exhibition. More than 40 professional conferences will be held, focusing on trade policies and regulations, trade risk prevention and control, industry trade standards, and other issues, along with three seminars.
For the first time, the event will join forces with leading industry companies and well-known professional institutions to release more than ten cutting-edge and trend-setting thematic reports, such as “China Brand Overseas Development Report.”
