The 136th Canton Fair successfully concluded in Guangzhou on November 4. Zhou Shanqing, Director of the Canton Fair News Center and Deputy Director of the China Foreign Trade Center, introduced the overall operation of this year’s fair to domestic and foreign media. This fair thoroughly implemented the important spirit of President Xi Jinping’s congratulatory letter and adhered to the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council. Under the strong leadership of the Ministry of Commerce and Guangdong Province, and with the joint efforts of relevant ministries, local commerce authorities, overseas institutions, and all participants, the fair achieved its goals of being exciting, successful, safe, and clean, yielding positive results and making a significant contribution to promoting high-quality international trade development, expanding high-level opening up, and advancing Chinese-style modernization.
The number of overseas buyers attending reached a historic high. As of November 3, a total of 253,000 overseas buyers from 214 countries and regions attended, an increase of 2.8% from the previous session, and for the first time exceeded 250,000, setting a new record. Buyers from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative accounted for over 60%, totaling 165,000, an increase of 3.7%. Buyers from Middle Eastern countries saw the fastest growth, reaching 34,000, a rise of 32.6%. The number of buyers from Europe and the United States also showed a significant rebound, with 54,000 attending, an increase of 8.2%. Among them, EU buyers numbered 22,000, up 22.5%, and US buyers totaled 8,919, an increase of 5.2%. A total of 146 business organizations formed groups to attend, an increase of 18.5%. The number of leading multinational purchasing companies for the first time exceeded 300, reaching 308. The intended export transaction amount slightly increased compared to the previous fair. This year’s fair reported an intended export transaction value of $24.95 billion, a 1% increase from the last session. Transactions from Belt and Road countries accounted for more than half, and traditional markets in Europe and the United States saw growth.
Exhibitors generally reflected that overseas buyers at this fair had clear purchasing goals and strong willingness to cooperate, with potential for more transactions through on-site factory inspections and in-depth connections. Innovative products were highly favored. This fair showcased the achievements of new productive forces, with a plethora of innovative products featuring increasing technological content and brand value. A total of 1.15 million new products, 1.04 million green products, and 1.11 million products with independent intellectual property rights were exhibited. Digital, intelligent, and green products stood out and were well-received by overseas buyers. A total of 435 new product launch activities were held, attracting about 3,500 buyers to participate offline. The Canton Fair Design Innovation Award (CF Award) selected 147 award-winning products from 120 companies, attracting over 30,000 visitors to the award product exhibition area.
Import exhibitors achieved substantial results. This year’s fair featured 730 companies from 49 countries and regions participating in the import exhibition, with enterprises from Belt and Road countries accounting for 65.5% and RCEP member countries making up 33%. Many internationally renowned companies showcased smart manufacturing and high-quality consumer home products, attracting the attention of domestic and foreign buyers. Exhibitors from Russia, Malaysia, and Vietnam reached intended cooperation with Chinese companies, with products expected to enter the Chinese market quickly. Exhibitors from Turkey, South Korea, and Egypt reported fruitful results and plan to continue exhibiting as a group at the next fair.
The online platform operated smoothly. Exhibiting companies uploaded approximately 3.75 million products on the Canton Fair official website, attracting 450,000 overseas buyers from 224 countries and regions to attend online. The total number of visits to exhibitor stores reached 3.42 million, with export exhibition stores receiving 3.39 million visits. A total of 986 online presentations were held, with 32,000 viewers. The newly launched Canton Fair APP attracted approximately 87,000 downloads, becoming a popular “conference assistant” for attendees.
Supporting activities were notably effective. This year’s fair hosted a seminar on enhancing trade digitization, discussing international development trends in trade digitization, China’s progress, and paths for international cooperation, fostering a consensus on the development of trade digitization and promoting win-win cooperation. For the first time, international organizations such as UNICEF and the United Nations Office for Project Services were invited to co-host a procurement information exchange meeting, introducing the UN procurement bidding process and participation methods to exhibitors, sharing procurement cases, and facilitating exchanges. A workshop on international cooperation in facilitating conformity assessment services focused on the electronic home appliance sector, discussing further strengthening regional standards and conformity assessment cooperation.
This year’s fair also successfully held over 860 trade promotion-related activities, setting a historical record. A total of 348 “Trade Bridge” activities were organized, including 334 supply and procurement matching events that attracted 763 buyers and 1,747 suppliers for one-on-one negotiations, with the intended procurement amount exceeding $850 million. Additionally, 55 professional meetings were held, including 19 industry forums that attracted about 2,500 attendees. For the first time, ten cutting-edge and trend reports, including the “China Brand Going Global Development Report,” were released.
Trade services were highly efficient. This year’s fair’s trade service area attracted 229 exhibiting companies, providing a full range of trade services such as financial insurance, logistics and warehousing, and testing and certification both online and offline. The cross-border e-commerce display area was optimized, organizing seven cross-border e-commerce platforms, 34 supporting service providers, and six cross-border e-commerce pilot zones to help expand new trade formats. The Product Design and Trade Promotion Center (PDC) attracted 113 design companies from 12 countries and regions, an increase of 9.7% from the previous fair, receiving over 11,000 clients and reaching about 1,400 intended cooperation agreements in design services.
The role of intellectual property protection was prominent. This year’s fair continued to uphold high standards for intellectual property protection and trade dispute resolution, creating a good trading order and safeguarding enterprise innovation and development. Intellectual property complaints involved 455 companies, with 206 ultimately determined to be suspected of infringement. The fair also accepted and mediated 20 trade disputes, reaching a resolution in 12 cases. Certificates of participation were issued for seven exhibitors. After the offline exhibition of this year’s fair concluded, the online platform continued to operate regularly, welcoming exhibitors and buyers to stay engaged. The application process for exhibition booths for the 137th Canton Fair’s offline export exhibition is about to start, and we encourage enterprises to apply for booths through official channels. The 137th Canton Fair will be held in Guangzhou from April 15 to May 5 next year in three phases, and we look forward to reuniting in the spring of next year.

本届广交会深入贯彻习近平主席重要贺信精神,落实党中央、国务院决策部署,在商务部和广东省有力领导下,经过相关部委、各地商务主管部门、驻外机构以及全体与会人员的共同努力,实现精彩、成功、安全、廉洁举办的目标,取得了良好成效,为促进国际贸易高质量发展、扩大高水平对外开放、推进中国式现代化建设作出积极贡献。
到会境外采购商数量创历史新高。截至11月3日(下同),共有来自214个国家和地区的25.3万名境外采购商到会,较上届增长2.8%,首次突破25万大关,创历史新高。“一带一路”共建国家采购商占比超六成,共计16.5万人,增长3.7%。中东国家采购商数量增长最快,达3.4万人,增长32.6%。欧美国家采购商数量明显回升,到会5.4万人,增长8.2%,其中,欧盟采购商2.2万人,增长22.5%;美国采购商8919人,增长5.2%。共有146家工商机构组团参会,增长18.5%。头部跨国采购企业首次突破300家,达308家。
出口意向成交额较上届略增。本届广交会出口意向成交额249.5亿美元,较上届增长1%。“一带一路”共建国家成交占比过半,欧美传统市场成交实现增长。参展企业普遍反映,本届到会境外采购商采购目标明确,合作意愿较强,后续通过实地验厂、深入对接后有望达成更多交易。
创新产品广受青睐。本届广交会集中展示新质生产力发展成果,创新产品层出不穷,科技含量、品牌价值不断提升。现场展出新品115万件、绿色产品104万件、自主知识产权产品111万件。数字化、智能化、绿色化产品亮点突出,受到境外采购商青睐。举办435场新品发布活动,吸引约3500名采购商线下参与。广交会设计创新奖(CF奖)共评选出120家企业的147件获奖产品,获奖产品展示厅吸引超3万人次到访。
进口展企业收获颇丰。本届广交会共有来自49个国家和地区的730家企业参加进口展,其中 “一带一路”共建国家企业占比65.5%、RCEP成员国企业占比33%。众多国际知名企业集中展示智能制造和优质家居消费类产品,吸引了境内外采购商关注。俄罗斯、马来西亚、越南等展团企业与中国企业达成意向合作,产品有望快速进入中国市场。土耳其、韩国、埃及等展团表示收获颇丰,下届继续组团参展。
线上平台运行平稳。本届广交会参展企业累计在广交会官网上传展品约375万件,吸引来自全球224个国家和地区的45万名境外采购商线上参会。参展企业店铺累计访问量342万次,其中出口展店铺累计访问量339万次。企业累计连线展示986场次,共有3.2万人次观看。首次推出的广交会APP吸引约8.7万人下载使用,成为广受欢迎的掌上“参会助手”。
配套活动成效显著。本届广交会举办了“提升贸易数字化水平研讨会”,围绕贸易数字化国际发展趋势、我国进展情况、国际合作路径等展开探讨,凝聚贸易数字化发展共识,推动合作共赢。首次邀请联合国儿童基金会、联合国项目事务署等国际组织共同举办采购信息交流会,向参展企业介绍联合国采购招标流程与参与方式,分享采购案例并进行交流。举办合格评定服务贸易便利化国际合作研讨会,聚焦电子家电领域,研讨进一步加强区域标准与合格评定交流合作。本届广交会还成功举办了860多场贸促系列活动,创历史纪录。举办348场“贸易之桥”系列活动,其中334场供采对接活动吸引了763家采购商和1747家供应商“一对一”对接洽谈,意向采购金额累计超8.5亿美元。举办55场专业会议活动,其中19场行业论坛吸引约2500名观众参与。首次发布《中国品牌出海发展报告》等10份前沿性、趋势性主题报告。
贸易服务专业高效。本届广交会贸易服务区引进229家企业参展,线上线下提供金融保险、物流仓储、检测认证等全链条贸易服务。优化跨境电商展示区,组织7个跨境电商平台,34家配套服务商和6个跨境电商综试区参展,助力拓展贸易新业态。广交会产品设计与贸易促进中心(PDC)共吸引来自12个国家和地区的113家设计公司参加,较上届增长9.7%,共接待客户超1.1万人次,达成约1400宗设计服务意向合作。
知识产权保护作用彰显。本届广交会继续高标准做好知识产权保护和贸易纠纷处理工作,营造良好的交易秩序,护航企业创新发展。线上线下受理知识产权投诉案件涉及被投诉企业共455家,最终认定206家企业构成涉嫌侵权;受理、调解贸易纠纷20宗,达成和解12宗。为参展企业出具展出证明7份。
